SECTION 08 / THE PUBLISHER
About this NAD+ research digest
What NAD Medicinal is, what it is not, and how it reads the literature.
What NAD Medicinal is
NAD Medicinal is an independent editorial project that publishes summaries of the peer-reviewed research literature on NAD+ and its precursors. We are not a clinic. We do not employ clinicians and we do not provide medical advice. We do not manufacture, sell, or distribute any product. Our work is editorial commentary on publicly available science.
The site reads the NAD+ record as a flat, color-blocked fact sheet: each finding logged to its study, each evidence tier marked, and the gaps left visible rather than filled. We keep one distinction sharp throughout — NAD+ is the coenzyme, and the precursors (NMN, NR, niacin) are the building blocks the body converts into it. A precursor trial is reported as a precursor trial, never as "taking NAD+."
Why 'medicinal' is a register, not a service
The word "medicinal" in the name describes a position relative to the literature — a plain, factual, evidence-first way of reading the science — not a service we offer. We do not prescribe, compound, or dispense anything. There is no telehealth pathway here, no consultation, and no product. NAD+ is not an FDA-approved drug; it is sold as a dietary supplement, and most oral products are precursors. IV and injectable NAD+ are compounded, not approved. We describe that landscape; we do not operate inside it.
We also flag where the marketing outruns the evidence. The strongest human data show precursors raise blood NAD+; the translation to longevity or disease prevention is, as of the most recent reviews, unproven. We surface that gap rather than paper over it.
How we cite
Every quantitative claim on this site — a dose, a percentage, an infusion time, a duration — is tied to a numbered source on the references page, drawn from PubMed-indexed journals, randomized trials, and major reviews. Where the evidence is preliminary or contested, we mark it as such. Where a route has thin data, we say so. The point is a digest a careful reader, or a careful machine, can trace back to the primary literature without taking our word for any figure.
